Thirty women community radio broadcasters from nine countries from mainly South and Central Asia have gathered in Mysore, Karnataka, India to participate in the 6-day Women Making Airwaves for Peace (WMAP) seminar from February 13 – 18 2010. Women Making Airwaves for Peace is composed of experience sharing, skills sharing and radio productions. The participants are resource persons, trainers, trainees and radio journalists at the same time.

Women Making Airwaves for Peace (WMAP) is a cross-cultural radio seminar for women broadcasters on the role of community radio in peace building and disaster management organised by Isis International in collaboration with AMARC-WIN Asia Pacific.

The Gender Policy explains what gender equality means in community radio and how it can be achieved. It serves as a tool to implement gender equality in community radio stations. It demonstrates the necessary measures which can enable and encourage women's equal participation in all fields and levels of the radio station.

The Gender Policy has been translated into 18 other languages .

Guide to establishing community radios in Lao PDR

This handy brochure (50 pages) guides step by step through the process of establishing community radio station. With many tips and recommendations, it is useful not just for Lao PDR but for anyone who wants to start community radio.

Women Making Airwaves for Peace is a joint project of Min-WoW and Isis International - Manila to promote engendered peace journalism and women's critical role in conflict transformation and peace building. The project consists os Training Workshops and Training Modules.
